| The voice that answers the telephone at my shop is
most likely that of my assistant, Jagon Eldridge. Jagon is one of the
outstanding rock saxophone players here in New Orleans, and leads his
own band, The Atomik Thunk.

A saxophonist since age eight, Jagon was an outstanding soloist
with the Louisiana All State Jazz Band, and appeared at both the New
Orleans Jazz Festival and the the Worlds Fair (held in New Orleans in
1984) while still in junior High School.
Jagon starred with the alternative band Dang - Bru - Y, and
recorded two Cd's. He appeared as an opening act with alternative
bands No Doubt; Public Enemy; and Fishbone. He has also made many
appearances with The Radiators.
He has studied saxophone with Victor Goines (from Wynton Marsalis'
band); Eric Traub (formerly with Maynard Ferguson); and I am very
honored that he has been my saxophone student
for the last five years.
Jagon's setup is: Yamaha YTS-61 tenor (at least it started life
that way, it's been HIGHLY modified!); Runyon Quantum (metal)
mouthpiece (#7 with spoiler secondary reed); Rico Royal #2 1/2 reeds;
Varilig ligature; Walt Johnson strap; Shure LX rack mounted wireless;
A.R.T Alpha effects processor; Makie 1202 mixer; Morley Wah Wah pedal,
and a ferocious stage presence!
In addition to his mastery of the saxophone and his extensive knowledge
of electronic effects and recording techniques, Jagon is a great
craftsman, highly skilled in saxophone repair and setup. I am very
proud to have him associated with my company, and even more proud to
say that he is my student and, most of all, my friend. He's in the
shop all day every day, and is quite able to answer your questions and
inquiries. |
