sgunison2.jpg (112983 bytes) The Masterpiece neck, also designed by Steve, gives extremely free blowing response and superb intonation. A solid silver neck is optional. The unique underslung octave mechanism assures a perfect seal.
sgunison3.jpg (135132 bytes) The heart of the Steve Goodson Model's excellent response and intonation is the exclusive "Tri-Vent" octave system. This system eliminates the stuffy D2 and the break between G2 and A2. Response and intonation are much improved for the entire upper range. This feature is found only on the Unison Steve Goodson Model.
sgunison4.jpg (163661 bytes) The High Note Compensator mechanism, exclusive to the Unison Steve Goodson Model, brings the C#3 and palm key notes into perfect tune, and eliminates the "thin" voice associated with the highest tones.
sgunison5.jpg (166550 bytes) The triple ring strap hook allows the player to find the ultimate in comfortable playing position. this feature is exclusive to the Unison Steve Goodson Model.
sgunison6.jpg (122757 bytes) The oversized bell is beautifully hand engraved on the flair, front, sides, and down the bow. The LH pinky table is oversized for player comfort and easy reach. The low Bb spatula has a built in riser.
sgunison7.jpg (187126 bytes) The enlarged front F key has a roller which eliminates the need for finger lifting. The A/Bis key has an adjustment screw for ease of  regulation. Both of these features are unique to the Unison Steve Goodson Model.

SUGGESTED ALTISSIMO FINGERINGS

In the course of developing this model, I experimented with many different fingerings for the notes above high F#.  Due to the increased tone hole diameter and the use of the unique compensator key,  I found that fingerings that are different from my usual ones seemed to work the best.  The changes that we made in the neck, bore, and mechanism make the Steve Goodson Model very “altissimo friendly”. I’ve had a number of professional players try these fingerings, and there seems to be general agreement that these work very well, and that the altissimo range of the horn is phenomenal!
